SES was founded in 1996 to meet the local community’s growing need for access to emergency health care. The vision was to provide communities with a reliable evacuation service and medical health plans which allowed access to quality hospital treatment. Still driven by these strong values, the company aims to deliver the highest quality medical and evacuation services in the region as well as to offer international standard medical plans.

In 2016, SES became a fully licensed long term insurer with the Pension and Insurance Authority (PIA) of Zambia. Under this license SES expanded its insurance product range to include life cover.

SES currently has operations in Lusaka, Kitwe, Livingstone and Johannesburg.
